Welcome to Rally, where we believe in the power of rewards to drive employee engagement and foster an extraordinary employee experience. In this help center article, we'll explore the concept of rewards, how they work for both employers and employees, and the exciting possibilities they bring to your organization. Let's dive in!
How Rewards Work (for Employers):
Employers must be set up as an admin user on Rally to change rewards settings. After logging into Rally, click on "recognition" from the left-hand menu bar. From the boops page, click on the "rewards" tile.
Admin users will always see the rewards tile. Standard users (team members) will only see rewards if rewards have been enabled for the organization. By default, rewards are always enabled unless disabled by admin users.
For admins, clicking on the "how rewards work" button will open a popup with descriptions covering most of the content in this article.
Enabling Rewards:
Admins have the ability to enable or disable rewards for their organization.
Admins will always have access to view and manage points and rewards.
Employees will only see points and rewards if rewards are enabled.
Rewards Functionality:
Admins can gift unlimited points to team members as a form of recognition.
Admins have the option to assign monthly points to each employee.
Employees can redeem their accumulated points for exciting rewards.
Monthly Points per Employee:
Admins can assign points to standard employees, allowing them to gift points to others.
Monthly points per employee can be set to 0 to limit gifting privileges to admins.
Admins can gift unlimited points to standard user employees.
When standard users run out of their monthly points allotment, they are unable to gift any points until the next month.
Once an employee reaches enough points for a reward tier, they can redeem their points for rewards.
Points to Gift:
These are the points assigned to team members for gifting purposes.
Point gifting is enabled on boops, magic wands, special dates, and announcements, as well as comments made on any of these.
Team members cannot redeem their own points for rewards.
Gifted Points:
These are the points team members receive from their colleagues as recognition.
Team members can redeem gifted points for rewards of their choice.
Gifted points do not expire until they are redeemed for a reward.
Reward Tiers:
Any team member can redeem their points for rewards when they reach certain tiers.
Points Balance | Reward Tier |
250 | $25 gift card |
500 | $50 gift card |
1,000 | $100 gift card |
Rewards Statuses
There are three statuses for all rewards. These statuses are automatically updated when the criteria have been met.
(NO STATUS): This happens when an employee has earned points, but they have not redeemed points yet.
PENDING: This status indicates an employee has redeemed their points (the redeem function is only available after the team member has accumulated enough points for a reward tier).
When the employee clicks Redeem, the system converts the points and processes payment.
This takes between 2 and 3 business days to validate and finalize.
While it is in this waiting period, the tag will show as PENDING.
AVAILABLE: Once the employer has been billed and the 3 business day hold period has passed, the reward will now show in the team member's My Redeemed Rewards section as AVAILABLE with the button "claim".
When users click claim, this opens a gift card picker from over 300 nationwide brands.
The team member must select their gift card and confirm their selection; otherwise this status remains as available.
Once the user selects a gift card, the status will change to CLAIMED
CLAIMED: This status indicates the employee has chosen the gift card they’d like to use their reward points for. This status shows when all of the following criteria have been met:
The team member has earned enough points to redeem a reward.
The employer was billed for the reward and the 3 day pending period has passed.
The team member has then clicked "claim" on an available reward, selected an confirmed a gift card. The status now shows as CLAIMED in the rewards table, along with the date of the claim.
Rewards Billing:
Points can be redeemed within Rally for gift cards from over 300 nationwide brands.
Employers are billed when a team member redeems a reward.
Rally charges the face value of the reward plus a 5% fee.
How Rewards Work (for Employees):
After logging into Rally, click on "recognition" from the left-hand menu bar. From the boops page, click on the "rewards" tile to view your points balance and rewards.
Point Gifting:
Your employer will allocate a certain number of points for you to gift to your fellow team members each month.
Point gifting is enabled on boops, magic wands, special dates, and announcements, as well as comments made on any of these.
Redeeming Points for Rewards:
When your colleagues gift you enough points, you can redeem them for exciting gift cards.
You can explore the available gift cards from over 300 nationwide brands, and choose the one that appeals to you.
Points Expiration:
Points allocated for gifting expire at the end of each month.
However, the gifted points you receive from your teammates never expire until you redeem them for rewards.
Rewards on Rally serve as a powerful tool to drive employee engagement and create a thriving workplace culture. By enabling rewards, employers can recognize their team members' contributions and foster a sense of appreciation. Employees, in turn, can enjoy the satisfaction of receiving points and redeeming them for exciting rewards. Start gifting and celebrating each other's success on Rally today!
