Searching and applying to relief shifts are even easier now in the new Relief Rover 2.0. With additional filters, pay transparency and shift dates clearly listed, you can easily browse, curate, save and apply to shifts that meet your needs. We'll cover how to search, filter and apply to shifts.

After logging into to your dashboard, click on the shifts icon in the menu bar. You'll automatically see shifts that match your preferences and experience.

In the open shifts section, you'll see all upcoming shifts that have not been booked yet. Any shifts that you have applied to, been approved for, or confirmed and booked will automatically move to your bookings section. Any shifts that you save are viewable on your saved shifts section.

If you'd like to search by dates and/or locations, you also have the option to search across all open shifts on hound:

  1. To search for shifts, select the search bar in the top center on your dashboard and then toggle to shifts.

  2. Add the position, location, and/or dates you'd like to search on and click the green search button on the right.

  3. To further condense your search results, you can select any of the filters above the results.

  4. You'll then have the option to filter by options like practice type, species, team size, pay and more. Click on the "more filters" button to see additional filters.

  5. Select the light green "save" button at the bottom to save your filters.

  6. Once you find a position you're interested in, click anywhere on the shift card to view more details about the position and the practice, or you can select "apply" to apply to the position. Note: applying to a shift does not automatically book the shift - it's a way to start a conversation with the hospital before confirming the booking.

  7. After clicking "apply", you have the option to include any comments and/or attachments with your application, such as negotiations or special requests. You will be notified of any responses from the employer, which will appear on your messages page. If the employer who posted the shift approves you, this doesn't mean that the shift is booked yet! There's one final step - you need to confirm this shift in order to secure the booking.

  8. After you apply to a shift, this shift will now move from your open shifts section to your bookings section, under the "applied" label. If the employer approves you, you'll get a notification of the approval and the shift will move under the "pending" label of your bookings section.

  9. If you're not quite ready to apply, click the "save" button on the shift card or listing to save the job for later. (You can find all saved shifts on the shifts page > "saved shifts" section).
