What if I need to cancel a booked shift? (relief professionals)

How to cancel a relief shift that was booked on Hound.

After you've applied to a shift, you can "unapply" anytime before the shift has been booked, giving you more flexibility of your schedule. If the shift has been booked however (meaning an employer has approved you and you've also confirmed the shift), you'll need to cancel the booked shift.

Note: We understand that last minute things may come up. Hound's cancelation policy allows workers to cancel a booked shift anytime before the shift start time; however, we strongly discourage any last minute cancelations within a week of the shift. If a worker repeatedly cancels booked shifts within three days of the start date, they may be banned from using our platform.

  1. Once logged in, click on the shifts icon from the menu, then click on bookings.

  2. Find the booked shift under the "booked" section of your bookings page. From here, click the "cancel" button. You can also click on the shift card to view the shift listing details, then click the "cancel" button.

  3. You'll see a popup asking you to confirm your cancelation. Click "cancel shift" to cancel the shift. The employer will be notified of your cancelation. We suggest also reaching out to the practice to let them know why you need to cancel your shift.
