To receive shift payouts, Groove connects your bank account through Stripe, which opens in a new browser tab. The most common issue is that your browser blocks that new tab as a pop-up, so the Connect Bank Account button can look like it did nothing at all. Allowing pop-ups for Groove fixes this in almost every case.
If the "Connect Bank Account" button seems to do nothing
When you click Connect Bank Account on your Payments page, Groove tries to open Stripe in a new tab. If nothing happens, your browser has almost certainly blocked that tab. Try the following:
Look for a pop-up blocked icon at the right-hand end of your browser's address bar (it usually looks like a small window with a red x or a warning symbol).
Click it and choose to always allow pop-ups from Groove.
Click the Connect Bank Account button again - Stripe should now open in a new tab.
If you see a "Pop-up blocked" message with a direct link to open Stripe, you can also click that link to go straight to Stripe and finish connecting your account.
How to allow pop-ups in Google Chrome
If the steps above didn't work, you can allow pop-ups for Groove directly in Chrome's settings:
Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of Chrome, then click Settings.
Go to Privacy and security › Site settings › Pop-ups and redirects.
Under Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects, click Add and enter groove.vet.
Return to Groove and click Connect Bank Account again.
For more detail, see Google's official guide: Block or allow pop-ups in Chrome.
How to allow pop-ups in Safari (Mac)
With Safari open, click Safari in the top menu bar, then click Settings (or Preferences on older versions).
Open the Websites tab, then select Pop-up Windows from the left-hand list.
Find groove.vet in the list of open websites and set it to Allow. (If you don't see it, open groove.vet in a tab first, then check again.)
Return to Groove and click Connect Bank Account again.
For more detail, see Apple's official guide: Manage pop-ups in Safari.
Still stuck?
A few extra things to try if pop-ups are allowed and it still isn't working:
Disable any ad-blocker or privacy extensions for Groove, as these can also block the Stripe tab.
Try a different browser (for example, Chrome or Safari) or connect from a desktop computer if you were using a phone.
If you're still unable to connect your bank account, reach out to us at hey@hound.vet or by using the chat widget in the lower right corner and we'll be happy to help.
