Understanding Shift Statuses on Groove

A quick reference to what each shift status means on Groove, from posting through payment, for Practice Admins, Group Admins, and Groovers.

Written by Austin Huff

Every relief shift on Groove moves through a series of statuses, from the moment it's posted to the moment it's paid. Here's what each one means.

In all shift views (calendar, list, map), you'll see a status for each shift that corresponds with the shift status legend. Below are all the shift statuses explained.

SHIFT STATUSES

  • Open: the shift is posted and visible to connected Groovers. It can still receive applications or be direct booked.

  • Booked: a Groover has been booked for the shift, either through an approved application or a direct booking. The shift is now on the practice's and the Groover's calendar.

  • Expired: the shift's date passed without anyone being booked for it. It's no longer active and won't accept new applications.

  • Review: the shift date has passed and it's ready for the practice to finalize — confirming hours and entering payment details.

  • Paid: the shift has been finalized and payment has been made (or logged, if paid offline). This is the final status for a completed shift.

  • Cancelled: the shift posting or booking was cancelled before it was worked.

  • No-show: a Groover was booked for the shift but didn't show up to work it.
