Browsing and Applying to Shifts on Groove

Explore the Shifts page, where you browse and apply to relief shifts at your connected practices.

Booking a shift on Groove is easy, and requires connecting your bank account first to ensure you can get paid after the shift. After you apply to a shift, the practice admin will approve your application to book you. All your upcoming booked shifts are also visible on your dashboard.

BROWSING SHIFTS

Click on Shifts on the lefthand menu bar to see available shifts. You can switch between three views:

  • Calendar view (default): Shifts shown by date. Shift statuses are color coded between available, applied, booked and more.

  • List view: Sortable list with status, pay, and location. Includes a date range filter.

  • Map view: Shifts plotted on a map by practice location.

You can also adjust your shift visibility by clicking the Shift Visibility button at the top to filter out specific days of the week, shift types and hours, and case mix preferences.

VIEWING SHIFT DETAILS

Click any shift from any of the three views to see the full details:

  • Date, start time, and end time of the shift.

  • Location and address of the shift, including the practice name.

  • Pay rate (hourly or flat) and production bonus info. Shifts can have two types of pay rates:

    • Fixed rates (hourly or flat), which the practice sets. This can also be negotiable.

    • Groover-set rates, which you enter when you apply for the shift.

  • Shift snapshot: expected caseload, case mix, average number of support staff, and an overview written by the practice.

APPLYING TO A SHIFT

On the shift detail page, click Apply for Shift. Your application is sent to the practice, and you will see the shift on your Applications page.

To withdraw your application, click Remove Application on the same shift.

TRACKING YOUR APPLICATIONS

Go to Applications (/applications) to see all shifts you've applied to, with statuses:

  • Pending: The practice hasn't responded yet.

  • Booked: You've been booked for the shift.

  • Not selected: The practice chose another Groover.
