Job Posting: How do I post a job?

Everything you need to know about posting an open position on Hound.

Key things to know about job posts on Hound:

  • Job posts can be turned into a job template anytime, so you can quickly repost multiple roles with the same details.

  • To view or edit your job templates, go to your practice profile page. You can select a saved job template or one of our default job templates anytime you post a job.

  • After you post a job, you have the option to boost the job anytime. Learn more about boosting jobs here.

Click the quick post button and select post a job

  1. Click the quick post button at the top of any page, and select post a job to start creating a new job posting.

2. Choose your location from the drop down menu. If you have more than one location for your practice, you'll see them all listed here.

3. Click position to choose the role you need to hire.

Select an existing job template, or one of our default job templates

4. If you already have a saved template, you'll find it here. If not, we'll cover that in a moment.

Add job details like benefits, desired experience and more

6. Edit the listing as needed, including making your pay rate negotiable.

7. Select a start date for the job, or leave it as-is to select the default option: asap.

10. Add your job description or click the "enhance my writing" icon for help. Have fun with your job description and make sure it's talks to your ideal candidate!

11. Keep your job posting standard or boost it for more views. Standard job postings are shown to all job seekers on Hound, while boosted jobs are seen by more job seekers, unlocks candidate matching and their contact details.

12. A standard job posting on Hound starts at $199 a month per job posting. Upgrading to Recruiter will give you a 25% discount on job postings, while upgrading to Recruiter Pro allows for unlimited postings. Both recruiter options allow you to search and message with all candidates!

13. Boosted job pricing varies depending on if you're upgraded to a Recruiter/Recruiter Pro account or not. Normal boosted job pricing is $499/month for a veterinarian job posting and $249/month for support staff. We offer 25-50% discounts on boosted jobs when you have a recruiter or recruiter pro account.

Preview and post your job

14. Click "preview & post" to review your job listing before making it live to ensure accuracy and appeal. This is how your job will appear to job seekers on Hound.

15. Next you'll see the preview mode of your job, which is how it will look to job seekers. Click "post" to make your job posting publicly available and start attracting candidates or edit to make changes.

View and manage all your job posts

16. Click "jobs" from the left-hand menu bar to view all your current job postings and manage them efficiently.

17. Click on the photo of your job card to view the full job posting.

18. Click the edit button on a job card to make changes, including to save this as a template to use for future postings.

Optional: boost any standard job

19. You can boost a posted job at anytime by clicking the "boost" button on the job posting, then confirming your choice in the pop up.

20. If your job is boosted, you can pause your boost at any time. This doesn't cancel your actual job post though - you will need to delete the job by clicking the red X in the top right corner of the job to delete it.

Managing your job templates

21. Make any changes to an existing job post and then click "save template". This will store your current job posting settings for future use and faster posting.

22. You can also create a new job template by navigating to your practice page, scrolling down to the job templates section and clicking the plus sign above "add job template".

23. This opens a new job template form, which you can edit and save for future use.

24. To delete a job template, simply hover over the red X in the top red corner and click the delete button that appears.
