Job Post Auto-Renewal: How it works, when you're charged, and how to pause it

Everything you need to know about how job post auto-renewal works on Hound — including billing dates, what happens if payment fails, and how to pause or stop renewal.

How long does a job post stay active?

When you post a job on Hound, it stays live indefinitely until you remove it. How you're charged for the job post depends on whether you're on a Recruiter, Recruiter Pro or a Free subscription.

How much will I be charged at renewal?

Your renewal charge is based on your active subscription at the time of renewal — not when you originally posted the job:

  • No subscription: $199/month per post

  • Recruiter: $149/month per post

  • Pro Recruiter: Free

  • Enterprise: Free

This means if your subscription changes between when you posted and when the post renews, the new rate applies. See our article on what happens to job posts when your subscription changes for more detail.

When does renewal happen?

Your job post renews 30 days after it was published, and every 30 days until it is removed.

What happens if my payment fails at renewal?

If the renewal charge doesn't go through, your job becomes hidden from the Hound marketplace. You will receive an email notifying you of this payment failure. You'll need to update your payment method and manually reactivate the post to get it live again. Your job content is saved and won't need to be re-entered.

What about boosted jobs?

Boosted jobs have their own separate auto-renewal cycle. When a boost renews, the job post expiration date syncs with the boost expiration date. For more information, see our article on how boosted job auto-renewal works.
