Release date: April 9, 2024
In the 6 years since Relief Rover launched, we've learned a ton from our users' feedback and suggestions. In 2023, Relief Rover joined forces with Hound to expand on creating a community of happy, hardworking humans who dedicate their work life to veterinary medicine and caring for pets. 🥳
We couldn't be more excited to share Relief Rover 2.0 with the world - a modern take on addressing shift coverage and hiring gaps. Here's a breakdown of what's new, what's staying the same, and frequently asked questions for relief professionals and employers. Click the links below to jump to each section:
What's new in Relief Rover 2.0
Full time, part-time and relief shifts all in one platform: instead of having to sign into multiple platforms, we’ve merged Relief Rover 2.0 into Scout to become your all-in-one recruiting and hiring platform - nationwide.
Free for relief professionals AND employers: instead of a monthly/annual subscription, Relief Rover 2.0 is still free for all veterinary professionals AND free for all employers to sign up and post shifts. Employers only pay for booked shifts on our platform - a flat hourly booking fee. There's a few other paid features that are unlocked with a premium membership, which can all be easily customized from your employer account:
Unlimited full time and part time job posts
Unlimited candidate search
Unlimited candidate chat
Stronger, more intuitive user experience and interface: joining forces with Hound has given us a bigger team with stronger technology, which are reflected in the latest user interface. Things like searching and archiving your messages, more filters in candidate searches and detailed candidate profiles are just a few examples.
Free on-platform chat with shift applicants: although unlimited candidate chat is a premium feature, employers can chat with all applicants to their shift postings for free. You’ll also have archiving and search capabilities for chats.
Search for candidates nationwide (premium subscription required): in addition to relief veterinarians and technicians, Relief Rover 2.0 shares the same candidate pool as Scout - giving you access to support staff candidates including assistants, receptionists and managers. You can also filter by candidates interested in permanent and/or relief positions, or filter for students.
What's staying the same in Relief Rover 2.0
Lateral hiring for employers: no buy-out fees EVER. Employers can hire relief vets and techs permanently without any strings attached or fine print.
Paying and charging how you want: relief professionals will still set their own hourly rate and manage preferred payment methods and terms on Relief Rover 2.0. We encourage all relief professionals and employers to discuss these details in our free on-platform chat before booking a shift.
Building your relief network: for relief professionals and employers, the connections you make on Relief Rover 2.0 are yours to keep and grow.
Saving candidates and shifts: you can always save a candidate, or a shift (or job) that you're interested in. They won't be notified when you've saved them.
